omg jon and i just had a very nice dinner of rice (which i cooked!! and jon said it was DAMNNN GOOOOD yay!!!), omelette (which i cooked too and was damn good too!!), mushrooms+onions and stir-fried seafood and then we decided that we needed dessert to make it a fantastic meal, so we RAN out in the 8-DEGREE DRIZZLY WEATHER in our SHORTS (fbts for me omg) and TSHIRT and SLIPPERS to the convenience store (mamashop) outside the train station and bought magnums, and ran allllllllll the way back! and it was SUPER FREAKING COLDDDDDDD and everyone looked at us like we were crazy and the mamashop uncle laughed at us but the magnum was damn worth it la. hahahahaa. ..posted at 3:39 AM Monday, September 01, 2008
hej! an update since my last update! hur.  we cooked hainanese chicken rice!!!! hahahaa. abit mushy the rice, but it was not bad la. first try ok. actually jon cooked la, i just sat there and watched tv. haha! other than that, so far we have also cooked rice with meatballs (i bought 1kg!! and i cooked it!! haha ok actually just microwaved for a few min hurhur) and jon panfried chicken. it was a good meal. but i think we're still much sadder than the other exchange people who can cook more advanced things. i have a huge loaf of bread now though, which can only last till 2 aug so i've been eating bread for many meals. and i bought this damn nice spread which is sth like nutella, it's called nusica. it's half the price of nutella here!! hazelnut and nougat. =DDD i suspect i am going to balloon soon though. argh. on another day, we went for a looooooooooooooooong walk down the harbour behind our hostel. it is a damn nice place to walk, windy and nice scenery. got alot of emo-able places too, but I DONT EMO so it is useless to me. haha! and we realise we can actually continue walking and reach the city central! but then it takes one hour la so i think we'll stick to taking the train.   i will take more photos when i go and walk there again la, these are from jon's camera. again. on monday, we had our first lesson. it was very slack. haha. tues was dinner with a swedish girl.. on wed, we had class again, and in the evening there was this law students welcome thing at the law house where we made friends with french girls. haha. that night, there was also a start of the year party for everyone at the university pub, where we made even more friends! haha.   there, we met a korean girl - gangi. and a japanese guy - shuhei. shuhei is damn nice, he said he bought sushi ingredients to make for me, and now all he has to do is find the fish! YAYYY i got sushiiii!!!!! =D we also met this estonian guy who almost became an olympian for this yr!!! but he injured his knee... and he has cycled all over europe already. he cycles to school everyday now. quite impressive lor. and he drinks alotttt. he and jon best friends. hahaha. he's the dude in green above. got many other people we met too so it was quite fun! on thurs, we went for an 18 yr old swedish guy's birthday party, which was quite boring. and i stupidly wore a dress which means i nearly froze to death =[ and when the birthday boy saw us, he just yelled KONICHIWAAA!!!! sheesh. -_- on fri, we were invited for a picnic with the french girls, lucie and claire! but it was raining so we ended up having the 'picnic' in their kitchen. they stay at the hostel across the forest trail from us, so we just walk through the forest. very near. then at night, we invited them over to our place for a corridor party which some people staying at jon's block organized! notices about the party were pasted in every lift. and it was SO SUPER CROWDED!! can you imagine, the whole 5 blocks x 9 floors worth of people squashed into one corridor. even more people cos pple brought their other friends, like how we brought claire and lucie and gangi and shuhei. but it was quite fun, we just anyhow talked to random people. there are people from greece, holland, japan, china, sweden, france, spain, italy, america, poland, pakistan, everywhere! and i saw my next-door neighbour there too, the polish girl. she said she thought i moved out cos my fridge was empty. haha. but actually the fridge is just damn disgusting and the whole kitchen is quite yucky so i dont want to go there anymore. i keep my food on my foodshelves!! and i dont buy food that needs to be chilled because i dont cook hurhur. good ah. at most just buy and share with jon then put in his fridge since i go to his kitchen to eat anyway. =D at the corridor party!    seems to be the same people right. but it's damn hard to take photos with the other people cos when you're talking then abit weird to suddenly whip out your camera. and most of the time we stayed in the kitchen cos we value oxygen and the ability to breathe. outside in the corridor it's damn packed la cannot move at all!! super alot of people. then yesterday and today, i met up with my parents and brother who are back from spain. they're leaving for sg tmr. also met up with their swedish friends again, who brought me a plant for my room and a full length mirror! haha. and apple sauce from my swedish grandmother! damn good la, i just bought quaker oats so that i can eat it. she also bought me a swedish book for 5 yr olds!  it's damn fantastic la, got stickers inside and colouring pages hahhaa. they brought us to haga, some park with butterfly houses and copper tents! we just went there for a small bite at the cafe though, cos had another dinner appointment. will go into the butterfly house another time!    the rest of the photos on facebook! going to sleep soon. night! ..posted at 5:25 AM |
